Nómada Tropical directed, produced, and edited a compelling short documentary for El Buen Tenedor, delving into the vibrant cacao production of Panama’s Bocas del Toro province. Over a 10-day journey across the country, our team captured the essence of a region where 95% of the nation’s cacao is cultivated, thanks to the dedication of 2,070 small producers spanning 60 communities.
This story brings to life the efforts of the Solary Indigenous Cooperative, the artistry of producer Meivis Ortíz of Mayamei, the culinary expertise of Chef Joseph Archbold, and the wisdom of Doña Mara.
Beyond the documentary, we also provided a comprehensive photographic record, showcasing the region’s landscapes, people, and traditions.
This project for El Buen Tenedor—a platform celebrating the creative gastronomy industry—reflects our ability to produce immersive storytelling that honors cultural heritage and craftsmanship through stunning visuals and engaging narratives.
